No online list and limited exiva: gank protection
No public online list, limited exiva and VIP only by accepted friendship. Hunting down a player is hard on purpose.
The problem in regular Tibia
In traditional Tibia, chasing someone is trivial and almost free. The online list tells you when the victim logged in; exiva tells you where they are. Put the two together and PvP stops being an encounter and becomes the hunting of a defenseless target — the weaker player does not lose a fight, they are located and executed repeatedly until they stop playing.
How it works here
- There is no public list of connected players. Nobody can scan who is online to pick a target.
- Exiva is limited: it only locates those who allowed being located or those who have a relevant PvP relationship with you (PK, Red, Black, Yellow, Orange Skull).
- The VIP List requires an accepted friendship — you only get onto the list of someone who approved the request.
Why it was designed this way
The three measures attack the same thing: information asymmetry. PvP stays open and stays rewarded — whoever looks for a fight finds a fight, and killing players gives experience — but it no longer starts with one side knowing everything and the other knowing nothing. The intention is not to protect the player from PvP; it is to make PvP an encounter between two players, instead of a scheduled execution.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see who is online?
There is no public list of connected players. The absence is deliberate: it is what prevents picking a target before heading out to hunt them.
Does exiva not work?
It works, with a limit: it finds those who allowed being located or those who have a relevant PvP relationship with you — PK, Red, Black, Yellow or Orange Skull.
So is the server anti-PvP?
On the contrary: killing a player gives the experience lost by the victim, and there is open-world guild war. What is made harder is locating and chasing those who do not want a fight.
