Char Offers: sell your character without stopping playing

Listing your character no longer locks it. In Char Offers it keeps playing while you receive and accept offers.

The problem in regular Tibia

Selling a character in Tibia has always had a hidden cost: the instant you list it, the character freezes. It leaves the game and stays stuck in the auction until it ends — days without being able to log in, hunt, train or join any event. And if nobody places the bid you wanted, those days were lost for nothing. The fear of going a week without the character makes a lot of people never list, and the character market stalls along with it.

How it works here

  1. In Char Offers (the live mode of the bazaar), the character keeps playing while it is listed — you hunt, train and take part in events as usual, receiving offers in parallel.
  2. What protects the buyer is not freezing the character, but a lock only on the listed equipment (it cannot be sold or dropped) plus a level and skill monitor: if the character falls below what was listed, all offers are cancelled and refunded on the spot.
  3. Interested players make offers by locking in a 5% deposit. You accept whichever one you want, whenever you want — and offers that do not win have the deposit refunded.
  4. Once the offer is accepted, the buyer has 24 hours to pay the rest, and the character remains playable during that period. Only at the exact moment of the transfer does it leave, going straight to the buyer's account.
  5. Prefer the classic way? The traditional auction — frozen character, with a minimum bid and a deadline — is still available side by side. The choice is yours, listing by listing.

Why it was designed this way

Freezing the character was never a rule of the game — it was just the easiest way to guarantee the seller would not empty the character before handing it over. We replaced that crude guarantee with a surgical one: lock only the listed equipment and watch the level and the skill. With that, listing no longer costs days of play. The result is a character market that actually moves, because nobody has to choose between selling and playing anymore.

Frequently asked questions

Does my character stop playing while it is listed?

In Char Offers, no — it stays playable until the moment of payment. Only the classic auction freezes the character during the listing.

How can the buyer be sure I will not empty the character?

The listed equipment is locked (it cannot be sold or dropped) and the level and skill are monitored: if the character falls below what was listed, the offers are cancelled and the deposit refunded.

Do I lose the deposit if my offer is not accepted?

No. The 5% deposit on offers that do not win is refunded automatically.

What if the buyer does not pay after I accept?

They have 24 hours to pay the rest, playing the character freely during that period. If they do not pay, they lose the 5% deposit and the listing goes back to receiving offers.
