A good part of Tibia's best content is group content, and access to it does not depend on skill: it depends on you already knowing people. Whoever joins alone shouts in chat, gets ignored among twenty other messages, and ends up playing solo forever — not by preference, but for lack of a tool. Bosses and quests sit behind a social calendar that the new player simply does not have.

Why it was designed this way
The bottleneck of group content is almost never difficulty — it is coordination. Solving coordination opens up content that already exists to those who were shut out of it. And bringing different vocations together pays off: the party XP bonus goes from +20% with a single vocation to +120% with all five.

Do I need to know someone to do a boss?
No. The Party Finder exists for that: you list your party or join one already listed, without depending on chat.
Does playing in a party give me much more XP than solo?
In a party with shared XP the bonus grows with the different vocations: +20% with one, +50% with two, +80% with three, +100% with four and +120% with all five. Hunting solo you get +20%.
